Short answer
A full body MRI costs £765 to £2,999 at the UK clinics we checked and $2,499 at Prenuvo in the US. The price follows what is scanned: the cheapest packages cover the head, abdomen and pelvis, and the dearer ones add the spine, chest, heart or blood tests. No professional body of radiologists we read recommends the scan for people without symptoms.
- Prenuvo (US)
- $2,499 per whole-body scan
- Prenuvo (London)
- £2,499 shown; confirm at booking
- UK clinics
- £765 to £2,999, by package
- Ezra (US)
- $999 to $3,999; the $999 scan is not head-to-toe
- Abroad
- Acıbadem Istanbul check-up with whole-body MRI, from $2,200
Key findings
- Prenuvo charges $2,499 for a stand-alone whole-body scan in the US, about 50 minutes with a radiologist's review and a consultation. Its London home page showed £2,499, but another Prenuvo UK page shows the price in dollars.
- UK clinics start at £765. Vista Health's cheapest package covers the brain, abdomen and pelvis; MRI Plus starts at £999 for six areas including the chest, and goes to £2,999 with 11 areas and 60 blood tests.
- Not every “full body” scan is full body. Ezra's $999 scan lists the chest, lungs, heart, spine, limbs and bowel as not included.
- Abroad, only one hospital publishes a price: Acıbadem in Istanbul includes a whole-body MRI in a one-day check-up from $2,200. Hungary's private MRI was reportedly stopped in November 2025, and a Tokyo clinic charges foreign patients a separate price.
- Radiologists advise against it without symptoms. The UK, US, Canadian and Australian and New Zealand colleges do not recommend it; reviews found 94% of people have a finding and up to 30% need more tests, while 1.1–1.6% have a confirmed cancer.

Prenuvo cost
Prenuvo is the best-known full body MRI brand. Its pricing page lists the stand-alone Whole Body Scan at $2,499, about 50 minutes, with a review by a board-certified radiologist and a consultation with its clinical team to go over the findings. It produces a report for your own doctor. In the US no referral is needed; for its Canadian clinics in Vancouver and North Vancouver Prenuvo says you need one, and we found no Canadian-dollar price on its pages.
Prenuvo also sells yearly memberships. Core costs $1,199 and is built around a shorter Focused Scan from head to mid-thigh. Comprehensive costs $2,499 and adds lab panels to the whole-body scan, with a repeat panel at six months. Executive costs $3,999, or $4,499 in New York. Prenuvo says memberships can be cancelled at any time (Prenuvo pricing).
In London, Prenuvo has a clinic at 32–36 Great Portland Street. Its UK home page showed the Whole Body Scan at £2,499 on 26 October 2026, but its UK “what we offer” page showed “$2,499 USD”, and the two pages give different scan times. Ask for the price in pounds in writing when you book.
Full body MRI cost in the UK
Two UK sellers publish full prices. Vista Health lists Silver at £765 (brain, abdomen and pelvis), Gold at £1,345 (adds the whole spine, its most popular package) and Platinum at £1,845 (adds cardiac screening). Prices include the report and all images within three days.
MRI Plus lists Bronze at £999 for six body parts (brain, neck, chest, upper and lower abdomen and pelvis), then Silver £1,499, Gold £1,999, Platinum £2,499 with blood tests and Diamond £2,999 with 11 body parts and 60 blood tests. It says no GP referral is needed and scans are reported within two working days. Prenuvo's London price sits at the top of this range.
The NHS does not offer whole-body screening to people without symptoms; when you have symptoms it scans the body area your doctor needs. For a single-area scan, see MRI scan waits and prices at home and abroad, from £249 privately in the UK.
Full body MRI abroad
We looked for whole-body MRI prices on clinics' and hospitals' own sites in the eight countries we cover and found one. Acıbadem in Istanbul sells a Premium Men's Check-Up from $2,200 that includes a whole-body MRI without contrast and a low-dose chest CT in a single day, with 61 tests in all. That is about the price of Prenuvo's scan alone, but it is a package price “from”, confirmed by a written quote, and you add the trip. See health check-up prices in Turkey.
Hungary. A Hungarian business paper reported in February 2026 that private providers may not perform MRI or CT scans since 1 November 2025 and that the state bought their machines (Economx, in Hungarian). We list no Hungarian whole-body MRI price.
Japan. A Tokyo imaging clinic that offers a DWIBS whole-body cancer scan says the prices on its booking site are for Japanese patients and that foreign patients are charged separately (DN Imaging Diagnostic Clinic, in Japanese). Ask for the visitor price in writing. In South Korea, Thailand, Poland, China and Mexico we found whole-body MRI prices only on broker and booking sites, which we do not use.
What radiologists say about full body MRI
Every professional body of radiologists we read advises against whole-body MRI for people without symptoms. Their reason is the same: the scan finds many things that turn out to be harmless, which lead to more tests and worry.
“We only recommend body scanning to investigate symptoms of disease, and only under the direction of a doctor. If you have no symptoms, we don’t recommend trying to get an MRI scan without being referred by a doctor, as there is a chance of overdiagnosis…”
“The ACR, at this time, does not believe there is sufficient evidence to justify recommending total body screening for patients with no clinical symptoms, risk factors or a family history suggesting underlying disease or serious injury.”
“The Canadian Association of Radiologists opposes the use of whole-body or full-body magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) as a screening tool in asymptomatic individuals, outside of specific, evidence-based clinical indications.”
“RANZCR does not recommend performing whole body MRI screening in asymptomatic patients who do not have a previously diagnosed malignancy or a cancer predisposition syndrome.”
An evidence summary written for Canadian family doctors in March 2026 found that, in reviews of observational studies, 94% of people who had a whole-body MRI had an abnormal finding, up to 30% needed further tests, and 1.1–1.6% were found to have a confirmed cancer. It found no data on whether the scans help people live longer (Tools for Practice #410; the authors say it is their opinion, not college policy).
Before you book a full body MRI
- Ask for the list of body areas scanned, the scan time and whether contrast is used.
- Ask who reads the scan, how long the report takes, and whether you get the images in DICOM format.
- Ask what happens if the scan finds something: is there a doctor to explain it, and who arranges the next test? The follow-up usually happens at home, at home prices or on a waiting list.
- Tell your own doctor before you go. They will be the one to act on the result.
- If you have a symptom, see a doctor instead: a targeted scan of the right area is the standard route.
Bringing a scan home so your doctor can use it is covered in how to bring your results home.
Full body MRI: questions
How much does a full body MRI cost?
On the sellers’ own sites in October 2026: Prenuvo’s whole-body scan is $2,499 in the US and was shown as £2,499 in London; UK clinics list full-body packages from £765 (Vista Health, brain, abdomen and pelvis) to £2,999 (MRI Plus, 11 body parts with blood tests); Ezra’s scans cost $999 to $3,999 but the cheapest is not head-to-toe.
How much is Prenuvo?
Prenuvo lists its stand-alone Whole Body Scan at $2,499 in the US (about 50 minutes). Its memberships cost $1,199 (Core, built around a shorter Focused Scan), $2,499 (Comprehensive, a whole-body scan plus lab panels) and $3,999 ($4,499 in New York) for Executive. Its UK home page showed £2,499.
Is a full body MRI worth it if I have no symptoms?
Radiologists’ professional bodies in the UK, US, Canada and Australia and New Zealand do not recommend it for people without symptoms. An evidence summary for Canadian family doctors found that 94% of people scanned have at least one finding, up to 30% need more tests, and 1.1–1.6% are found to have cancer, with no data on whether it helps people live longer.
Is a full body MRI cheaper abroad?
We found only one whole-body MRI price on a hospital’s own site outside the UK and US: Acıbadem in Istanbul includes one in a check-up package from $2,200. In Hungary, private MRI was reportedly stopped in November 2025, and a Tokyo clinic says foreign patients pay a different price from the one on its booking site.
Does the NHS offer full body MRI scans?
We found no NHS page offering whole-body MRI screening to healthy people. The NHS scans the body area a doctor needs to look at when you have symptoms; see our page on MRI waits and prices.
What does “full body” actually cover?
It differs by seller. Vista Health’s cheapest package covers the brain, abdomen and pelvis; MRI Plus’s cheapest covers six areas including the chest; Ezra’s $999 scan leaves out the chest, spine, limbs and bowel. Ask for the list of body areas before you pay.
