Wait or Fly compares official waiting times with published prices for MRI scans, colonoscopy, health check-ups, cataract surgery and dental implants, at home and in eight other countries. It is a price and planning guide. It is not medical advice.
What this site does not do
- It does not tell you whether you need a test or an operation, which one, or whether it is safe for you to travel. Decide that with your own doctor or dentist.
- It does not judge the quality or safety of any clinic. A clinic appears because it publishes a price, not because we recommend it.
- It is not for urgent problems. With sudden or severe symptoms, go to an emergency department or call your local emergency number. Do not delay care to travel.
Who wrote the content
The pages are written and checked against their sources by the Wait or Fly team. They have not been reviewed by a doctor. Where a page makes a medical point (for example about whole-body MRI), it links to the medical body it relies on.
Before you travel for treatment
- Tell your doctor at home and ask whether they will act on a result or follow up an operation done abroad.
- Get the clinic's plan and price in writing, and know who to contact if something goes wrong after you are home.
- Check that your travel insurance covers planned treatment; many policies do not.
